It was a bittersweet afternoon. We wished Mrs. Purvis well on her adventure up to 1st grade but we were sad to see her go. WE LOVE YOU, MRS. PURVIS!!!
I love teaching my kiddos about polar bears and this year was no exception. Our room has developed such a love for all things science so it was extra special to add a blubber experiment to our polar bear unit. Loved it!!! They made predictions on the blubber, conducted the experiment, and documented the results. My favorite part is the smiles on their faces when they don't really feel the water when their hand is in the "blubber glove." Below are some pictures of our testing. We are having so much fun learning all about measurements. We've learned math words like height, length, weight, short, tall, long, heavy, and light. Look how we worked in groups to share our learning. |
