This week and next week we will be learning about forces, motion and positions of objects in Science. Some of this will be tied into our Language Arts and Math. Today we did a few different experiments in class. One was testing to see if a car would go faster down a ramp, on the carpet or on the smooth floor. Below is a picture and video of one of the groups. Our answer: the ramp.

This week in Math we are learning about sorting. Today we learned that there are different ways to sort. Objects can be sorted by color, size or shape. We experimented with Skittles (thanks for the donations). Each student received two individual bags of Skittles and we sorted by color. After we finished we did a graph to see which color we had the most and least in our packages. I predicted there would be more red only to find out that green and yellow tied for first. See our class photos below.
I hope all of you have had an amazing weekend and enjoyed your Labor Day. I can't wait to see all of those bright and beautiful faces tomorrow morning. As soon as we receive all of our paperwork back from our class I can post some pictures and even a video from last week. Ask your children about our story "Humpty Dumpty." The class made predictions about a surprise "experiment" I had for them, then we reviewed our results. We had a BLAST!!!
