Today was Johnny Appleseed Day. We read a book about Johnny Appleseed, watch 2 videos, made our own Johnny Appleseed hats and even had apple taste tests. We tried plain apples, applesauce, apple juice and apples dipped in caramel sauce. The winner was the applesauce, but close behind was apples dipped in caramel sauce. Check out some photos below.

Thank you so much for allowing your children to participate. EVERYONE enjoyed the activity! I couldn't think of a better way to end our Nursery Rhymes and Fables Unit. The class was so excited to see if Humpty Dumpty would be saved. Even the creations that didn't 100% save Humpty were a hit with the class. Below are some pictures and videos. More pictures to come (thanks to Mrs. Game)! Today was SO MUCH FUN!!! I loved watching the class get so excited over one part of our robotics program in our class. Last year my class loved these and I was equally excited to see this year's class does, too! Below are some pictures and a couple of videos as we learn how to use the Bee Bots. Later we will use them to practice sight words, numbers, shapes and more! Today in class we were learning about Hidden Partners in math class. Basically this shows students various ways to make a certain number. Today one of the numbers we worked on was the number 5. Within the number 5 are other numbers. One example is within the number 5 there are "Hidden Partners" 3 and 2. 3 and 2 equals 5. The class really enjoyed this lesson and they were super excited to explore ways to make numbers by investigating their "Hidden Partners." Below is some of their work. We had such an exciting day today! Lots of fun and an introduction into the wonderful genre of Nursery Rhymes. Be sure to check out our Family Information page with updates on our curriculum. Today one of our Nursery Rhymes was "Ring Around the Rosie" and I thought the students would love to perform this for you! Check out our video below!!! Last week our class made our very own "hot air" balloons after we read "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss. They are now hanging in our room and our special class work will hang below the balloons. The kids had a blast and I think they turned out AMAZING!!! Here are some pictures of our class in action! |
