This week our school is participating in the Hour of Code. We are trying to encourage awareness and increase participation in this field of study. Our class is using the app "Kodable" as well as other programs offered on the site code.org. "Kodable" invites critical thinking skills by challenging students to use their positional word knowledge and mathematical skills to code a monster how to get out of a maze. The kids went BANANAS over this yesterday in a whole class lesson and experimented on their own today during centers. Our two other countries will participate in centers tomorrow using this app. I have also created accounts on the code.org site for each of our students. If you are interested in using this at home, please let me know and I'll send home their login information. Here are a few pics from our centers today!!!
